How does the 'estimated reach' work on an omnichannel orchestration?

Here is how the 'estimated reach' works when creating a new orchestration (this article only concerns the CEP platform).

The 'estimated reach' is an estimation of the users that will receive the automation made on the extrapolation of our data on our base. It gives an order of magnitude of the volume of users that will be targeted in an instant.

πŸ’‘ This estimate is based on data from the Userbase which is updated in real-time, as new installations and uninstallations are reported to Batch.

Here is a simplified explanation of how it works:

  • The profile data is organized into 128 partitions.

  • Batch reads the first 16 partitions and extrapolates from the remaining partitions to determine the number of profiles that can be reached.

If, after reading the first 16 partitions, we can determine that the cardinality is too low (there are fewer than 100 profiles per partition), then the entire set of partitions is read to obtain an exact value.
