Creating your first reengagement on a new platform can bring on many questions, this is why we created a short guide to help go through every step of the process:

  1. Targeting: full base or fine-tuning segmentation, through native targeting or custom ones;

  2. Scheduling: sending time that can either be now, scheduled or recurrent;

  3. Message edition: the content of the campaign that will be sent to the user..

Step 1: Targeting

To reengage your users, Batch allows you to target people who have become inactive, or who have visited your app just once (Dormant, One time). Smart Segments are automatically generated by Batch from the moment the SDK is implemented in your app. They allow you to take action on your userbase in a meaningful manner, based on their engagement level.

You can also create campaigns using the last date of visit on the app. This data is natively collected by Batch's SDK. It means you can use it to create user's segments as "users who last opened the app X days ago".

In the targeting block of your campaign, click on "Add conditions". Pick "Last Visit Date"

According to your campaign's goal, set the number of days after installation ("Installation occurred 30 days ago" in this example).

πŸ’‘ Don't hesitate to create reactivation campaigns, at 60 days, 120 days, ... using a different angle than your usual pushes, or highlighting a promotion.

Step 2: Scheduling

The advantage of these recurring campaigns is that you only have to set them once. Then, you can let them run in the background.

In the "When" section of your campaign's creation form, choose the "recurring" option.
Choose a starting and ending date for the campaign.

The notification needs to be sent every day ( = every 1 day in the form) so all new users can receive their reengagement campaigns.

Step 3: Message edition

The final step is the content of your push. Don't forget you can set up an A/B test of your wording.
